Patricia A. Nelson-Reade, R.N., CELA, has been practicing law in Maine for almost 20 years.The Law Office of Patricia A. Nelson-Reade was established in 1994 and recently changed its name to Nelson-Reade Law Office, P.C. Patricia graduated suma cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of North Florida. She worked as a Registered Nurse for sevenyears before attending law school.
Patricia graduated first in her class from the University of Maine School of Law in 1988, where she was editor-in-chief of the Maine Law Review. She is past co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Maine Bar Association and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Maine Estate Planning Council.
Patricia recently became one of the first attorneys in Maine to become a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). There are only approximately 300 CELAs in the country. To become a certified elder law attorney, the attorney needs to have extensive experience in elder law, recommendations by her peers, and pass a comprehensive exam.
Since 2007 Patti has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America, the most respected peer-reviewed publication in the legal profession. She was selected as outstanding in her field of Elder Law. Patricia was also named one of the top 50 women attorneys in New England by the publication New England Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Super Lawyers is an independent magazine that publishes a special supplement identifying top attorneys that have been recognized by their peers and through professional achievement.
