Patricia A. Nelson-Reade, R.N., CELA, has been practicing law in Maine for almost 20 years. The Law Office of Patricia A. Nelson-Reade was established in 1994. Patricia graduated suma cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of North Florida. She worked as a Registered Nurse for seven years before attending law school.

Maine Coast LupinesPatricia graduated first in her class from the University of Maine School of Law in 1988, where she was editor-in-chief of the Maine Law Review. She is past co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Maine Bar Association and is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Maine Estate Planning Council.

Patricia recently became one of the first attorneys in Maine to become a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA). There are only approximately 300 CELAs in the country. To become a certified elder law attorney, the attorney needs to have extensive experience in elder law, recommendations by her peers, and pass a comprehensive exam.

Patricia A. Nelson-Reade has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the 2009 edition of Best Lawyers in America, the most respected peer-reviewed publication in the legal profession. She was selected as outstanding in her field of Elder Law. Patricia was also named one of the top 50 women attorneys in New England by the publication New England Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Super Lawyers is an independent magazine that publishes a special supplement identifying top attorneys that have been recognized by their peers and through professional achievement.

Kate L. Geoffroy, Esq., has also been practicing law in Maine for almost 20 years. Prior to joining our team, Kate was with Pierce Atwood, the largest law firm in Maine, where she specialized in environmental law.

Kate holds a B.S. degree in Biology from Yale University (1980) and a J.D. cum laude (1988) from Boston College Law School, where she was an editor of the Boston College Law Review. After graduating from law school, Kate received the high honor of being selected for clerkship with Chief Justice Vincent McKusick of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. She is a member of the Maine Bar Association, Elder Law Section and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

 

Jennifer L. Frank, Esq., has been practicing law since 1993. Prior to joining our firm in 2008, Jennifer was the managing attorney of a mass tort litigation firm where she practiced for 15 years, primarily representing individuals harmed by unsafe prescription drugs.

Ms. Frank received her Bachelor of Science from Boston University and her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law, where she specialized and received a certificate in public interest law. She was a member of and published in the Golden Gate University Law Review. She is a member of the Maine Bar Association, the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Maine Bar Association Elder Law Section.

The Law Office has extensive experience in handling all aspects of Elder Law, including legal, personal and estate planning for all ages, long term care planning and nursing home planning, and special needs and settlement planning.

The Law Office has an experienced, knowledgeable and caring staff of paralegals and a legal assistant, who assist the attorneys in focusing on the individual needs of each client and their families. Each paralegal has between ten and twenty years of experience. We work as a team to provide each client with the highest level of services.
